About

The Lyceum Building is Northfield’s oldest surviving downtown structure, built in 1857 by town founder John North as a civic hall for the Northfield Lyceum Society. It served as Northfield’s first town hall, first public library, and first performance venue before cycling through more than a century of other uses.

In January 2023, Aaron and Kelly Street purchased the building and began a full-scale restoration.  Our goal is straightforward: preserve and revitalize a building that matters to Northfield’s history, and give it new life for the next century.

The People

Aaron Street is a lawyer, entrepreneur, author, and historic preservation real estate investor based in Northfield. He grew up in town and remembers hearing about the Lyceum Building during school bus tours as a kid.

Kelly Ann Street is a licensed therapist whose private practice now operates from the renovated Lyceum Building.

Together, the Streets are working to restore the building’s historic character while adapting it for modern use.
